illchax

I don't know if this song's new or hip enough for the Count's standards but I just found it on my ipod and one could say that my socks were sufficiently rocked.

Sigur Ros - Sæglopur (Enigma Remix)

Also, way to make up for like a week's absence from blogging. 5 posts in a day with at least one from each writer including the first from the real slynshady woohooo

Uncapped, Here's What Happened During That Time

Releases From Last Week:

Chromeo-Don't Turn The Lights On (HGH Recommended)
Funky as ever.

Mark Ronson ft. Q-Tip and MNDR (HGH Recommended)
This one will definately be big so be on the lookout for it. Also Q-Tip's flow works so well with this track.

Jack Beats-Out Of Body
Jack Beats seemed to have taken a more electro-house approach compared to their usual bassy style, still a nice track though.

The Dead Weather-Cuts Like A Buffalo (Skreamix)
Skream just released a new 4 song ep so be sure to check that out.

songs for sleep deprivation.

Sleep.. you are wondrous.

A handy tip if your sleeping patterns are all out of wack:

Establish routines you complete right before bed. Things like a certain type of music you listen to can really help, especially if it’s a specific playlist. Within that playlist, if you fall into a repetitious structure by the middle and till the end, you won’t wake up because of your music, as you do when you hear something out of sync with the rest of playlist.

The playlist I made for sleeping revolves around 3 main artists by the middle:

Jonsi and Alex:

Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto:

and Helios:

all flippin' brilliant artists with brilliant songs for falling asleep to.

So here you have it- here's my personal solution to sleep-deprivation:

<cassius_clay13> so I was with my friend bryan the other night in a bar
<cassius_clay13> well he got really drunk and said he was gonna puke
<cassius_clay13> so i helped him walk to the toilet
<cassius_clay13> all the stalls were occupied
<emoti_conartist> lol
<cassius_clay13> bryan is a rugby player... so a big guy
<cassius_clay13> so he fucking KICKS one of the stall doors open
<cassius_clay13> and there's this guy in there taking a shit
<emoti_conartist> hahahahahaha
<cassius_clay13> and bryan throws up ALL OVER HIM
<cassius_clay13> then (this is genius) bryan thinks 'oh shit... if i were taking a shit and someone came in and was sick all over me, i'd want to fuck him up... so i'd better hit him first'
<cassius_clay13> so he fucking SMACKS this guy in the face
<cassius_clay13> and runs away
<cassius_clay13> imagine being that guy... WORST NIGHT OUT EVER

Hahahahahahaha....taken from bash.org

Wall-E Computer Case

Hot damn, this one Russian guy took 18 days out of his life and built this thing from scratch. That's all metal, by the way. And yes, by computer case I do mean that this thing's holding his computer.

 Told you so!

Nostalgia Anyone?

Damn, they don't make shows like this anymore

Funky, Hairy Disco?

The Hair Kid, a youtube musician who has been getting some attention on toomanysebastians.net. Ok he does look like Kid Rock and remix Korean/Japanese pop songs, but he somehow makes it work. He makes some of the funkiest disco-synth grooves since Moulinex and adds his own raps over the top of the track. While i'm not too fussed on his raps, you can't deny his obvious talent. Here is a live video of him remixing 'You're Out' by Korean female pop group Wonder Girls.

Also become a fan on Facebook for free downloads of his tracks.

NIGHTMARE

It was period 6 and I was still on 6000 words with no reflection statement. Josh was being annoying and blocking my way to the library.

If you're reading this Josh I apologise in advance if there's still some residual animosity between us tomorrow, dreams are srz bznz for me.

Not so terrifying: woke up and found this

The Roots - How I Got Over

AGGGHHHH MAJOR WORK

Wrote a total of 136 words since 4:00am. Why was I up at 4 in the morning you ask? Well I thought I worked better during those niche hours, when nobody else is up to distract me. Thought.

Due on Monday and I'm out for my niece's birthday party today. Fuck yea.

World Cup Fever

Anyone else stay up for the opening night of the world cup? seriously entertaining game although it does sound like they're playing in a giant bees nest.

Couldn't help but think that the song Sunchyme-Dario G would have been the perfect South African World Cup song. Still remember seeing this clip on rage as a little kid. *Edit: Video only available when you click read more for some reason

Sunchyme-Dario G
memories courtesy of the count.

Also if Australia win the bid for the 2022 World Cup, this should definately be considered.

And that's how you let the beat build!

Nyle - Let The Beat Build

Dudes acting like they street when they barely sidewalk

Just remembered this guy today. Pretty cool take on a Lil' Wayne song (read: a punch to his face), no doubt the better version. Btw make sure you watch it on a higher quality than the default one.

Another song worth a listen:
Samples, or rather interpolates Jack Johnson's "Breakdown" if it wasn't obvious enough. Other songs on his S'more album sample Lou Reed, The Flaming Lips and Saul Williams among a few others so check it out aye.

ahhh, only in japan

Luv (sic) pt. 2 - Nujabes feat. Shing02

"okay so i want you to run at the camera, in broad daylight, in the middle of the street"

"is that all?"

"what are you crazy? of course not, this is japan. you also have to pretend there's a steel bar lodged in your ass"

"..."

"oh and you there, lining up for the CVD support group. you have to do it shirtless"

And strangely enough the final product is just right for this fucking excellent song. Just listen to that beat. RIP Nujabes :'(

It's like the Devil in me, saw the God in you

Some Indie (Possibly) Remixes

A dozen followers calls for a celebration. So kicking it off here are some of my favourite remixes of some "indie" (not hip enough to know whats indie and whats not these days) songs. First of many to come so stay tuned for some more La Roux, Florence + The Machine, Bloc Party etc posts in the future

Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)-Yeah Yeah Yeahs (HGH Must Have)
THE song of 2009 and a mix favourite of mine. A-Trak is a great DJ in both the Hip-Hop and Electro world. He was the youngest World's DMC DJ Champion at the age of 15 and Kanye West's former DJ. He also owns Fools Golds Records, is one half of Duck Sauce and is currently dating Kid Sister. More than enough reason to check this one out.

The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix)-Passion Pit

Little Secrets (Hey Champ! Remix)-Passion Pit

In For The Kill (Skreams Lets Get Ravey Remix)-La Roux (HGH Must Have)

I remember hearing this song in 2008 and it blowing my mind. It was the first dubstep song I had ever heard and is acknowledged as single handedly bringing dubstep into the mainstream.

I'm Not Your Toy (Jack Beats Remix)-La Roux
Decent remix complete with the wobbly bass sound Jack Beats is known for.

The Woman With The Tattooed Hands

Already been a post made on Atmosphere by Broseph but this song is incredible. Slug is one of the best storytellers i've ever heard.

BROSEPH EDIT:
You suck an unbelievable amount of balls. I was going to post this next, in fact I had the song zippyshare'd already and would have posted it already if I hadn't found the live version of God's Bathroom Floor. I hate YOU!

Anyway I'm going to hijack your post and throw in my input-
Fear of sounding like a fanboy or ignorant hip-hop fan not-withstanding, I gotta say that this song is damn poetry to me.

On the right hand she had a tattoo of a nude girl
she claimed it is what God resembled
But on the left she had a mirrored image of the same female
and this one she explained looked like the devil

It takes more than a rapper to come up with lines like that. True story.

Preparing for Extension English tomorrow

So glad I picked Akira as my additional text.

I think I should get back to work now.
